How this service works
Don Valley Arborists is an independent enquiry service, not a tree surgery company. Tell us about your trees by phone or the form. With your agreement, your enquiry is passed to one independent local tree surgeon, who contacts you to look at the job and quote. Read exactly how it works.

What affects the price most
- Size and position. A tree over a conservatory, greenhouse or power line needs careful dismantling in sections.
- Access. No side access means carrying everything through the garden or house by hand.
- Waste. Chipping and removing all wood adds cost; leaving logs can reduce it.
- Protection. Tree Preservation Orders or conservation areas add paperwork and waiting time.
- Wildlife. Active bird nests or bats can delay work.
Protected trees in brief
Before most tree work you should check whether a tree has a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) or stands in a conservation area. A TPO needs council consent; in a conservation area you normally give six weeks' notice. See the TPO and conservation guide.
